Mark and Marrio

What happens when an attorney and a dentist with a passion for music and Memphis join forces? Mark A. B. Carlson, a shareholder with Baker, Donelson, Bearman, Caldwell & Berkowitz, PC, and Dr. Marrio Thomas, a dentist with Gentle Dental, PLLC, created the “Music is Instrumental” program as their Fellows program Community Action Project. This project introduced musical instruments to elementary school students with the goal of increasing enrollment in band and orchestra in Memphis middle and high schools. These Fellows partnered with the Memphis Symphony Orchestra and the Soulsville Charter School.  

Mark and Marrio were recently honored by the Memphis Business Journal as two of Memphis’ Top 40 Under 40 for their contributions to this community both professionally and personally.
