Music is Instrumental, partnered with Memphis Symphony Orchestra and Soulsville Charter School/STAX Music Academy

Noting decreased enrollment in Memphis City Schools' middle and high school bands and orchestras, this team brought together the Memphis Symphony Orchestra and the Soulsville Charter School to introduce musical instruments to elementary school students. Young musicians from the Soulsville school inspired students at the nearby Cummings Elementary School by performing live and providing personal anecdotes about how fulfilling and enriching music has been in their lives.
