The Academy reaches across the city, including individuals from all sectors and identity groups in our mission to develop more and better leaders for Memphis.
Academy Masters
The Leadership Development Intensive/Masters program is a three-and-a-half day training experience delivered in partnership with the world-renowned Center for Creative Leadership. More than 550 executive-level business and civic leaders have completed the program, which uses innovative tools and experiential learning to empower established leaders to better understand and use their strengths.
Academy Fellows
The Academy Fellows program is a 12-month engagement that gives high-potential, emerging leaders the tools, experiences and connections needed to become change agents, inclusive leaders and qualified city ambassadors. Core to the curriculum is the development and implementation of Community Action Projects (CAPs) designed to build capacity of existing nonprofit organizations.
Memphis Connect
Memphis Connect is the city's tool to assist local companies in attracting and acclimating top talent to Memphis. For HR leaders, the Memphis Connect toolkit offers a variety of resources, in-person programs and activities highlighting local vibrancy and opportunities for employees, prospects and newcomers.
Memphis - The Summer Experience
Young people come from around the country to Memphis for summer internships. Through the Summer Experience, these young leaders meet peers, meet established city leaders, and - most importantly - meet Memphis.
Customized Training
The Academy designs and delivers customized training tailored to meet the specific needs of local corporations. Topics include inclusion, communications, constructive feedback tactics, team building and Memphis 101.
Center for Excellence in Education
Through our work with the Memphis City Schools, New Leaders for New Schools (both local and national chapters) and the Tennessee Charter School Association, numerous principals and teachers receive first-class leadership training designed to empower educators to realize the potential in every child.
