Mark Kornblau is deeply committed to telling the stories of teams and organizations working to change the world. He is Managing Partner and Global Head of Communications for SoftBank Group, one of the world’s largest technology investment firms. Since joining SoftBank in 2021, he’s led global communications and brand strategy while partnering with more than 450 portfolio companies that are shaping the future across industries such as education, healthcare, sustainable farming, financial access, and technology.
Throughout his career, Mark has been driven by the pursuit of impact. He’s overseen communications during defining moments for institutions in government, media, and finance. As Executive Vice President of Communications for NBCUniversal News Group, he guided strategy during a period of profound transformation in how audiences consume news. HI time with the organization allowed him to gain firsthand experience of how newsrooms function, perspective that continues to inform his approach to communications today. Prior to that, Mark was at JPMorgan Chase, where he managed communications in the aftermath of the global financial crisis and played a key role in restoring trust in one of the nation’s largest financial institutions.
Earlier, Mark served as spokesperson for U.S. Ambassador Susan Rice at the United Nations during the Obama administration, helping to shape U.S. messaging at a time of renewed international engagement. He also held senior communications roles with two presidential campaigns and for members of the U.S. House and Senate.
Mark earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of Wisconsin–Madison.
