On February 24, The Leadership Academy’s Executive Director of External Engagement Dr. Anthony King discussed the impact of culturally responsive leadership on student achievement in an episode of the CCSSO Inclusive Leadership Webisode Series.  According to the CCSSO website, “the Inclusive Leadership Webisode Series showcases resources and promising practices from states and national partners related to advancing inclusive principal leadership in policy and practice.”

In the webisode, Dr. King offered a detailed look at the foundations of culturally responsive practice as well as The Leadership Academy’s research-based framework for culturally responsive leadership.   He also presented a sample student profile alongside reflection questions and prompts to illustrate what culturally responsive leadership can look like in action at the various levels of the system.

“Our vision is to help create a nation where every school and school system is led by transformational leaders who prepare all children, particularly those in traditionally underserved communities, for success. We can do that by building the capacity of educational leaders at every level of the system to confront inequities and create the conditions necessary for all students to thrive,” said Dr. King.
